The STORM Factory presents a fun evening of cosplay with music, drinks, a cosplay contest and more.
Tickets will go on sale soon. This event may sell-out, so get your tickets early for a great event to close out cosplay season for 2022.

About the Ball...
VFW
The Ball will be hosted by the VFW at 27 Farrell st. VFW stands for Veterans of Foreign Wars. And we are happy to help out veterans as 100% of the rental fee goes to aid veterans.
Red Carpet Entrance
We'll have a red carpet with a nice backdrop and photographers to take photos of the Cosplayers as they enter the party. We'll also have J. Thomas Photoworks taking photos of the Cosplayers as they enjoy themselves. The Con Hour will also be at the Ball as host Greg Kelso roams the party getting Live interviews.
Cosplay Contest
Our Cosplay Contest may just have the biggest value for prizes out of all the Houston comicons. Currently, we are over $6,000 for all prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Rules and info below.
DJ Skywalker and Mix Master Yoda
The Ball will have special guest DJ Skywalker and Mix Master Yoda playing great music to drink and dance by.
18+ Attendees
We are allowing 18+ to attend this year's Ball. If you are 21+, bring your ID to purchase beer or bring your own wine or liquor. The bar will sell set-ups for your mixed drinks. 21+ will be given wristbands at the entrance upon showing proper ID. There will be 2 HPD officers present to oversee the Ball.
Door Prizes
We will give out Raffle tickets upon entering the Ball. At times during the night, we'll have a drawing for Door Prizes. We'll have some nice gifts and dinners for our winners.
One Door Prize that has been donated is by Greg Illich at Serendipity Tai Chi. The winner gets to choose between a 1 hour Tai Chi lesson, a 1 hour Tai Chi Sword lesson, or a 1 hour Self Defense lesson.. These prizes are valued at $60 each.
Serendipity Tai Chi is also offering a free Out-Call massage as another Door Prize. This prize is valued at $80.
Dinner for 2 at Chuy's Mexican Restaurant has been donated as well. We'd like to thank Chuy's and Manager Brandon Lewis for their involvement and generosity.
Dinner for 2 at the Ragin' Cajun restaurant has been donated as a Door Prize by Dominic Mandola and this is a real treat for Cajun Food lovers.
We'll have more dinners donated as Door Prizes as well. Check back for updates.
Cosplay Contest Rules
For 2022
Only 50 cosplayers will be allowed to enter the contest due to time constraints. An email address will be posted here at the beginning of September for cosplayers to enter. After 50 entrants, the email address will be removed.
Weapons - No real guns, knives, swords, etc. will be allowed entrance to the Ball or the contest. During the stage portion of the contest, no projectiles or any items shot, thrown or directed toward the audience. Any violations and an ejection from the Ball will occur by HPD.
No pyrotechnics, fire or flame of any kind. (see HPD ejection).
There will be a Pre-Judging at 9pm. Most of the scoring will take place at this time by 3 judges. At midnight, the contestants will each be given 30 seconds of stage time. No microphone or musical accompaniment.
1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophies, donated by Monarch Trophy & Awards, will be awarded after the midnight stage show.
Each winner will receive a free, on location, photoshoot by J. Thomas Photoworks valued at $1,295 - $1,895. This includes professional digital editing and digital copies.
Each winner will receive a Gift Certificate from Arda Wigs. $50, $30, $20.

We are very pleased to announce that Greg Kelso of The Con Hour will be attending this year's Ball. He'll be there to cover the event in video and roam the Ball getting some great interviews with the guests.
Greg mentioned that his goal was to get some of the great Houston cosplayers recognized by comicon coordinators. We're happy to have Greg's involvement and we can't wait to see his footage.
